Frequently Asked Questions

KorGrid uses native hypervisor-level replication to copy data between VergeOS clusters at the block level. Only unique, deduplicated segments are transferred, minimizing bandwidth usage and replication time. This approach enables near-real-time protection without requiring third-party agents or hardware-specific configurations.
Replication works between any compatible VergeOS cluster connected to the internet. The clusters do not need identical hardware—commodity servers and varied network equipment are fully supported. Replication frequency and retention policies are fully configurable to meet specific RPO and RTO objectives.
Replication storage is billed per cluster with a 1 TB minimum. After the first terabyte, usage is measured and billed in 100 GB increments based on the total protected capacity. This per-cluster model provides predictable pricing and allows customers to scale replication freely without hidden or variable transfer costs.
Yes. Replication can be configured as one-way (primary to secondary) or two-way (bi-directional) to maintain synchronized datasets between two active clusters. This flexibility allows customers to protect production workloads while also maintaining warm standby or active-active failover configurations.
There are no bandwidth charges of any kind. KorGrid does not bill for data transferred in or out of our platform, regardless of how frequently you replicate or how much data is moved between clusters. Bandwidth is included with every plan, so customers can replicate freely without ever needing to monitor or budget for transfer costs.
If the primary site goes down, replication can immediately reverse direction—beginning to send updated data back to the original site as soon as it comes online. Customers who also use our Virtual Data Center service can choose to power on workloads at the remote site instantly, operating in disaster recovery mode without delay. When the primary site is restored, KorGrid automatically re-synchronizes only the changed data, returning operations to normal quickly and seamlessly.
Yes. Each replication job is based on immutable, space-efficient snapshots. These recovery points cannot be altered and can be retained indefinitely for rollback or forensic analysis. Even if the source environment is compromised, the replicated copies remain intact and recoverable.
Absolutely. Customers can spin up replicas of their Virtual Data Centers in isolated test environments without impacting production. This allows for disaster recovery testing, patch validation, or sandboxed development using up-to-date data replicas—all without disrupting live workloads.
